This modern industrial home at Punggol Northshore Drive is thoughtfully designed for both style and function. The open-concept kitchen connects seamlessly with the dining area and dry pantry, anchored by a central island that subtly defines the space without breaking flow. To maintain a sense of openness, we introduced suspended shelving to house the built-in oven—challenging the norm of full-height carpentry for a more innovative and practical solution. The kitchen also features pull-out drawers instead of traditional casement doors, a pull-out tray for easy access to everyday items, and a rotating corner basket to fully utilize the L-shaped cabinet. Every detail was crafted for ease, efficiency, and a clutter-free aesthetic.

Taking cues from the homeowner’s appreciation for Japanese-style living, we integrated a platform bed with built-in storage to achieve the look and feel of a tatami bed—harmonizing with the modern industrial theme.

Another standout feature? The extended living area was transformed into a dual-purpose study space, cleverly designed around the common bedroom’s wardrobe. Instead of letting the lower portion of the wardrobe be blocked by the platform, we repurposed it for dual-side access: with pull-out drawers on the study side and a magnetic laminate panel for notes and reminders. This smart, space-saving layout not only enhances functionality but also creates a cohesive and personalized living experience.
