Punggol has evolved from a quiet eco-town into Singapore’s most vibrant residential hub. But for homeowners at Edgefield Plains, the standard HDB or Executive Condo layout often lacks that "wow factor" found in luxury hotels.
We recently took on a project at Edgefield Plains that challenged the status quo. By merging sleek monochromatic tones with high-gloss textures and smart spatial planning, we transformed this unit into a Modern Contemporary masterpiece. If you want a home that feels like a Manhattan penthouse right in the heart of Punggol, this is your blueprint.
In high-end contemporary design, the first impression dictates the energy of the entire home. We moved away from bulky, traditional shoe racks and opted for a seamless architectural approach that prioritizes clean lines. By installing full-height cabinet finished in a matte charcoal laminate and tinted mirror glass door we created a "hidden wall" effect that keeps the entryway impeccably tidy while providing massive storage. To break the visual weight, we carved out a recessed niche with an walnut wood laminates and warm LED strip lighting, providing a dedicated space for keys and statement art that feels intentionally curated.
The living room at Edgefield Plains was designed to be a high-contrast sanctuary that functions as both a cozy family zone and a stunning space for entertaining guests. We anchored the room with a full height curved TV feature wall that utilizes dark wood fluted panels set against a large-format sintered stone backdrop. This play of colour contrast between different wood defines the Modern Contemporary aesthetic. The circular false ceiling with recessed led also further enhance the overall mood of the entire living area.
As for the dining area you could see that we turn it into a dry kitchen with their very own pantry. It features a island with sintered stone worktop that inbuilt with induction stove and oven. This is perfect for owners whom host a lot of family gathering. For the dry pantry area there's adequate space for a single door fridge as well as to place both coffee machine and water dispenser making it a ideal morning to go prep area.
The interior of the kitchen is a masterclass in monochromatic drama, utilizing a high-contrast palette that feels both timeless and aggressively modern. We paired deep charcoal laminates with clean marble lines sintered stone to draw the eye upward, enhancing the sense of height and airiness.
For the foyer area we created an arched out frame using partion to soften the looks of the existing beam. Segregating the area between the two.
As for the bathroom area neededless to say we try to carry the theme throughout the entire house so to match it the tiles chosen was for this specific reason. As for the master toilet for the build in vanity the laminates chosen was also the matted charcoaled intergrated with the same sintered stone worktop used for the kitchen.
This style has become the go-to for tech-savvy Punggol homeowners because it matches the fast-paced, urban energy of the neighborhood. Beyond the looks, materials like sintered stone and high-pressure laminates offer incredible durability and are virtually maintenance-free.
